It is eyes to the sky later this month as the annual Perseid meteor shower lights up the night sky.
The annual meteor shower is one of the brightest and most active of the year with up to 200 meteors or "shooting stars" an hour expected in 2016 - double the usual rate due to an outburst.
It occurs every year between mid-July and late August. This year it will peak on the night of August 11 and 12.
