A burst water main in Merstham, described by one onlooker as a "geyser", caused delays and cancellations to train services this afternoon (November 11).The burst main, on Shepherds Hill, has been flooding the pavement and road with water for most of the day.
Southern Rail said on Twitter that services halted all services calling through Merstham, Coulsdon South and Redhill, which caused widespread disruption.
Services are now up and running but knock-on delays are to be expected.
