FIREFIGHTERS spent three and a half hours rescuing a pony from a ditch on Saturday afternoon.A crew from Horley's fire station were called to a stables in Reigate Road at about 12.15 after a brown pony was discovered stuck in a ditch.They were joined by animal rescue experts from firefighter crews based at Painshill and Esher.The three crews were able to pull the pony out using specialist equipment and following an examination from a vet, the animal was found to be unharmed in the ordeal.
